The Milton Chamber of Commerce Announces Milton’s Inaugural St. Patrick’s Day Home and Business Decorating Contest!
Milton residents, businesses, and local organizations roll out the green carpet during the Annual Irish Eyes Milton’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Lucky Leprechaun 5K. Both benefit nonprofit organizations in Milton, Delaware. So many locals and visitors enjoy our beautiful town during the fun and festivities while boosting our local economy!
“Decorating contests can bring our community together, fostering a sense of camaraderie and celebration. It adds a festive spirit, encourages creativity, and provides an opportunity for residents and businesses to showcase their enthusiasm for the holiday. For that reason, The Milton Chamber of Commerce will continue decorating contests throughout the year during our Chamber festivals and events and the ones we directly partner with”, said Karen Falk, Executive Director of the Chamber.
Contest Rules-
Participants do not have to be a member of the Chamber to participate!
1. Theme Guidelines: St. Patrick’s Day
2. Eligibility Criteria: Open to Town of Milton residents and businesses, organizations in town limits
3. Decoration Period: Begin now but must be up and ready by March 8, and stay up through March 23
4. Judging Criteria: Creativity, adherence to the theme, and overall visual impact
5. Prizes: Home winner- Dinner for four at Irish Eyes Milton, Business – A nice award to showcase and bragging rights
6. Judging Panel: Milton Chamber of Commerce. Also, see number 11
7. Photographic Submission: Please submit a photo of your home or business with location to Chamber@HistoricMilton.com and on our contest’s Facebook page post.
8. Safety Guidelines: Emphasize safety considerations to ensure that decorations do not pose any hazards to participants or passersby
9. Deadline for Entries: Deadline for participants to submit their entries is March 8th (email and Facebook)
10. Public Display Period: Decorations should be displayed March 8 through March 23, ensuring a synchronized and vibrant atmosphere in the town.
11. Community Engagement: Take a picture of your favorite home or business and post below or email to chamber@historicmilton.com
